If you want to unlock the full advanced functionality then you have to register and activate this software. This means you can download the software and use a portion of its functionality. Both the old VAG-COM 409 and VCDS-Lite are what is known as Shareware software. These however ONLY work with either VAG-COM 409 (released in 2004) or the newer VCDS-Lite ( VCDS-Lite is quite different from the FULL VCDS version for intelligent interfaces).
